GUS Staining Kit

The GUS (β-glucuronidase, β-D-glucuronidase) gene is currently a commonly used reporter gene. Its expression product, β-glucuronidase, is a hydrolase that can catalyze the hydrolysis of many β-glucuronide compounds. It can decompose 5-bromo-4-chloro-3-indolyl-β-glucuronide (X-Gluc) into a blue substance. The detection method is simple, rapid, sensitive, stable, and has low background activity. Since endogenous GUS activity is absent in the vast majority of plant cells, the GUS gene is widely used as a reporter gene in transgenic plants, especially in experiments studying the transient expression of foreign genes. This kit contains all the reagents for GUS staining and is convenient to use. By adding the X-Gluc solvent to the X-Gluc powder and mixing well, the staining solution concentrate is obtained. Then, by mixing the staining solution concentrate with the buffer in the appropriate ratio, the working solution for GUS staining can be prepared.
