4/5MS Medium (containing sucrose and agar) is a derivative formulation within the MS medium family that leans toward medium-to-high nutrient strength. It achieves this by precisely adjusting the concentrations of macronutrients, micronutrients, and organic components of the MS medium to 4/5 of the original formulation (while maintaining the iron source at the MS level to meet high photosynthetic requirements), and by premixing sucrose (as a carbon source) and agar (as a gelling agent), thereby creating a solid culture system characterized by "high nutrient supply and mild environmental stress." This medium fills the nutrient gradient gap between MS (100% concentration) and 3/4MS (75% concentration), and demonstrates unique advantages in plant tissue culture scenarios such as "vigorous seedling growth after rapid proliferation," "cultivation of materials with high photosynthetic demand," and "high-nutrient adaptation for sensitive materials."
