Agarose is a polymer extracted from agar or agar-containing seaweeds. It consists of alternating copolymer units of D-galactose and 3,6-anhydro-L-galactose linked by glycosidic bonds, exhibiting excellent biocompatibility, mechanical properties, and diffusion characteristics. Agarose offers a wide separation range, is simple to use, convenient to prepare, and does not require a catalyst. This product is standard melting point agarose, specially designed for routine separation analysis. Agarose gels prepared with it can separate DNA and RNA fragments across various molecular weight ranges through electrophoresis.
