This medium is widely used for rooting induction of plant tissue-cultured seedlings, seedling acclimatization, and cultivation of materials sensitive to high concentrations of ions (such as some orchids and woody seedlings). It is particularly effective in reducing the inhibitory effects of high nitrogen and high salt on root development, promoting the formation and growth of adventitious roots, and providing suitable nutritional conditions for the transition of tissue-cultured seedlings from in vitro to natural environments.
