White Medium（with Sucrose）

White Medium is a classic low-nutrient plant tissue culture medium. Its core feature is that the inorganic salt concentration is much lower than commonly used media such as MS or B5. Coupled with sucrose as a carbon source and osmotic regulator, it creates a gentle culture system (agar is not added, allowing flexible use for liquid culture or subsequent addition of a gelling agent to make solid medium). This medium is widely used for in vitro culture of plant roots, virus detection, and cultivation of tissues sensitive to high ion concentrations (such as orchid protocorms and fern sporophytes). It can reduce the stress caused by high ion concentrations on sensitive materials and provides a suitable nutritional environment for plant tissues with low metabolic demands.
