NB Medium（with Sucrose）

NB Medium is a plant tissue culture medium modified from N6 medium. Its core feature is retaining the advantages of N6's high potassium and low ammonium content while optimizing the ratio of trace elements and organic components. Sucrose is added as a carbon source and osmotic regulator, creating a system suitable for cultivating gramineous crops (agar is not added, allowing for liquid culture or solid medium preparation with a gelling agent as needed). This medium is widely used for subculturing callus tissue and genetic transformation in gramineous crops such as rice and maize. It effectively maintains the embryogenic potential and regenerative ability of callus tissue, reduces the decline in differentiation capacity caused by long-term subculture, and provides a suitable environment for crop in vitro culture and genetic manipulation.
