The RIPA lysis buffer produced by Puint is a traditional rapid cell and tissue lysis solution. Protein samples obtained from RIPA lysis buffer can be used for conventional PAGE, Western blot, immunoprecipitation (IP), co-immunoprecipitation (co-IP), and ELISA. This product can be used for cell or tissue samples from animals and plants, as well as for fungal or bacterial samples. RIPA originally stands for Radio Immunoprecipitation Assay. There are many formulations of RIPA lysis buffer, which can be roughly categorized into strong, medium, and weak types based on their lysis strength. Different types of RIPA lysis buffers and other lysis buffers produced by Puint have distinct main features and differences. The main components of RIPA lysis buffer (strong) are 50 mM Tris (pH 7.4), 150 mM NaCl, 1% Triton X-100, 1% sodium deoxycholate, 0.1% SDS, as well as multiple inhibitors such as sodium orthovanadate, sodium fluoride, EDTA, and leupeptin. It can effectively inhibit protein degradation. Because it contains a relatively high concentration of detergents, the protein concentration of samples lysed with this buffer cannot be measured using the Bradford assay.
