MT Medium is a specialized medium commonly used in the fields of plant anther culture and somatic embryogenesis. Its core feature is a balanced ratio of ammonium nitrogen to nitrate nitrogen and an optimized combination of trace elements, with sucrose added as a carbon source and osmotic regulator. This creates a culture system suitable for the differentiation of excised plant tissues (agar is not added, and users can choose liquid culture or add a gelling agent to make solid medium as needed). This medium is widely applied in haploid breeding and embryological research of crops such as tobacco and rice. It effectively promotes microspore development and normal differentiation of somatic embryos, reduces the occurrence of albino seedlings and abnormal embryos, and provides an appropriate nutritional environment for plant excised embryo development.
