2,4-D Storage Solution (1mg/ml), which is 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D) storage solution, is a commonly used auxin-type plant growth regulator stock solution in plant tissue culture. It is primarily prepared by dissolving 2,4-D powder at a concentration of 1mg/ml, providing a stable form that can be conveniently diluted as needed for subsequent use. An appropriate solvent (such as ethanol or dimethyl sulfoxide) should be selected to aid solubility. After preparation, the solution should be aliquoted into sterile containers and stored at low temperatures in the dark (to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles that could affect activity). When in use, it should be diluted to the final concentration required by the culture medium, mixed with other components, and sterilized. It is mainly used to induce callus formation in plants, regulate cell proliferation, and is suitable for dedifferentiation culture of various plant explants.
