Nutrient Agar / NA Medium

Nutrient Agar, also known as Nutrient Agar, is a conventional bacterial culture medium used for the subculturing and cultivation of bacteria. The yeast extract and peptone in the Nutrient Agar medium provide nitrogen sources, B vitamins, amino acids, and other growth factors for microbial growth, while sodium chloride maintains osmotic pressure. Nutrient Agar is suitable for the growth of bacteria with high nutritional requirements, but not for fastidious microorganisms. It is used for counting, isolation, and enrichment, while also providing high nutrition for the preparation of special media; it is also used for microbial testing in food, milk, and dairy products.
