Thidiazuron (TDZ) is a cytokinin-type plant growth regulator commonly used in plant tissue culture. It has dual activity of auxin and cytokinin, with its primary function being to induce plant callus differentiation and promote shoot regeneration. It can also break plant dormancy and regulate organ development, showing particularly strong adaptability for the in vitro culture of hard-to-differentiate woody plants and ornamental plants, effectively enhancing shoot induction efficiency and the vitality of culture materials.
