Candida chromogenic medium distinguishes different Candida species through color development based on enzyme substrate method. After incubation at 25-30°C for 48 hours, Candida albicans appears green, Candida tropicalis appears blue-gray, Candida glabrata appears light purple to purple, Candida krusei appears purple-pink, other Candida species appear white, and bacteria are inhibited.
