DF liquid medium (without a nitrogen source) is a specialized medium used in the field of microbial functional research, primarily for analyzing the characteristics of bacterial ACC deaminase, often used in conjunction with ADF medium containing ACC. It contains phosphate, carbon sources, and trace elements, providing basic nutrients for microbial growth but no nitrogen source. If a strain grows better in ADF than in this medium, it can be inferred that it is capable of producing ACC deaminase.
