Minimal SD Base

Minimal SD Base is composed of ammonium sulfate, trace elements, and glucose mixed in proportion, and it is considered a minimal medium. It can provide the basic substances needed for the survival of wild-type yeast, but it does not contain the amino acids required by mutant strains. This medium needs to be used in conjunction with DO-type amino acid deficiencies to confirm the yeast's auxotrophy or to perform positive transformant screening. However, in some experiments, depending on the promoter used in the vector, it is necessary to choose a medium with different carbon sources. For example, to induce expression with the GAL1 promoter, Minimal SD Base Gal/Raf medium should be used.
