Minimal SD Agar Base

Minimal SD Agar Base consists of ammonium sulfate, trace elements, glucose, and agar powder mixed in proportion and belongs to an incomplete. It can provide the basic substances needed for the survival of wild-type yeast, but does not contain amino acids essential for mutant strains. This medium needs to be used with DOclass defective amino acids to confirm the defect type of yeast or to screen positive transformants. However, in some experiments, different carbon sources need to be selected according to the different promot of the vectors used. For example, the Minimal SD Base Gal/Raf medium should be used for GAL1 promoter induction expression.
