Ashby's Solid Medium for Nitrogen-Fixing Bacteria

Azotobacter Ashby solid medium is a specialized medium for screening free-living nitrogen-fixing bacteria. It does not contain combined nitrogen sources but includes carbon sources and inorganic salts, allowing only nitrogen-fixing microorganisms to utilize atmospheric nitrogen for growth. Agar is added to create a solid medium, which facilitates colony observation.
