Organophosphorus Solid Medium

Organic phosphorus solid medium is a specialized medium for screening organic phosphorus-degrading bacteria. It uses poorly utilizable organic phosphorus sources such as lecithin and calcium phytate as the sole phosphorus source, combined with a carbon source, nitrogen source, and inorganic salts, and agar is added to form a solid medium. Only strains that can secrete metabolites such as phosphatase can decompose organic phosphorus to support their own growth, forming a clear zone, which can be used to determine their organic phosphorus degradation ability. It is commonly used for microbial resource screening and related functional studies, and strict aseptic techniques are required to ensure reliable results.
