Organophosphorus Liquid Medium

Organic phosphorus liquid medium is a specialized medium for screening organic phosphorus-degrading bacteria. It uses hard-to-utilize organic phosphorus sources such as lecithin and calcium phytate as the sole phosphorus source and contains carbon, nitrogen, and inorganic salts. Only strains that can secrete metabolic products like phosphatase are able to degrade organic phosphorus for their own growth. The degradation ability of organic phosphorus can be analyzed by measuring the soluble phosphorus content in the culture medium. This medium is commonly used for microbial resource screening and related functional studies, and strict aseptic techniques are required to ensure reliable results.
