L-Alanine

Alanine is a non-essential amino acid in the human body and can be rapidly synthesized from pyruvate (an intermediate product of carbohydrate metabolism) without requiring additional dietary intake. Its molecular structure contains the simplest aliphatic side chain (-CH) and is chemically stable. It is not only a fundamental raw material for protein synthesis but also plays a central role in carbohydrate metabolism and nitrogen balance — it can serve as a "gluconeogenic precursor" to provide energy to the liver and muscles, while transporting ammonia from muscles to the liver for detoxification through the "alanine-glucose cycle." It is a key molecule linking carbohydrate metabolism and nitrogen metabolism. Due to its simple structure and high stability, alanine is widely used in the food industry, pharmaceutical field, and molecular biology experiments.
