LB Agar Medium

LB medium is a kind of medium name, which is generally used for pre-culturing bacterial strains in biochemical molecular experiments, so that the bacterial can be multiplied to meet the requirements for use. It can also be used to culture genetically engineered recipient bacteria (Escherichia coli). It can be divided into culture medium and solid culture medium. LB is generally interpreted as Luria-Bertani medium, however, according to its inventor Bertani (Giuseppe Bertani) this name comes from the English lysogeny broth, namely lysogeny broth.
