SOB Agar Medium

SOB & SOC media are improved versions based on LB medium. E. coli grown in SOB or SOC media can achieve higher plasmid transformation efficiency. They are used for cultivating E. coli, allowing for multiple strain expansions, which can be used for large-scale expression of foreign proteins or for extracting plasmids containing foreign genes. This product contains yeast extract, tryptone, potassium chloride, magnesium chloride, sodium chloride, and glucose, or agar, specially processed for better mixing and solubility. It can be quickly prepared into the required culture medium, and selective antibiotics can be added as needed for subsequent experiments. Individually packaged, no weighing required, convenient and quick to use. SOC medium is used for preparing highly competent E. coli cells and also for the recovery of competent cells after heat shock.
