2×YT Agar Medium

2×YT medium is a “nutrient-rich bacterial growth medium”, and the “2×” in its name represents that its component is approximately twice that of the standard YT medium. It is particularly suitable for cultures that require “high cell density”, such as plasmid extraction and protein expression. In ph display technology or phage amplification experiments, 2×YT medium is a commonly used culture medium that can support the efficient proliferation of both the host bacteria and the phage simultaneously.
