EEUWEN'S Y3 BASAL MEDIUM

EEUWEN'S Y3 BASAL MEDIUM (abbreviated as Y3 medium) is a specialized basal medium developed by Eeuwens in 1976 for coconut tissue culture. It features a mineral salt system with high potassium and high iodine, precisely simulating the coastal saline environment where coconuts naturally grow. It successfully addresses the nutritional adaptation challenges of in vitro culture for recalcitrant woody plants such as coconut, and has now become one of the standard media for palm tissue culture and cell suspension culture.
