Yeast carbon source base, also known as YCB medium, is a synthetic medium that contains the carbon sources, amino acids, vitamins, and minerals required for yeast growth. Different types of nitrogen sources, such as ammonium sulfate, urea, potassium nitrate, asparagine, and peptone, can be added to the medium. Based on the ability to assimilate nitrogen compounds, it is used for the classification of yeast.
