MS medium was designed by Murashige and Skoog in 1962 for tobacco cell culture, and is simply called MS Medium. solid medium (with Agar) is used to induce callus, and also used for embryo, stem segment, shoot tip, and anther culture, MS liquid medium is used for cell suspension culture. The 1/2 MS basal salt, the core of which is a low nitrogen or nitrogen-free formula, retains the macro and micro elements for plant growth. It is in the form of dry powder, which is convenient for storage and transportation. It can be quickly configured into a nutrient solution with appropriate pH value when used and is mainly used for research related to nitrogen deficiency in plants, and can make plants show nitrogen deficiency physiological characteristics, providing standard culture conditions for relevant scientific research.
