MS medium was designed by Murashige and Skoog in 1962 for tobacco cell culture, and is simply called MS Medium. solid medium (with Agar) is used to induce callus, and also used for embryo, stem segment, shoot tip, and anther culture, MS liquid medium is used for cell suspension culture. MS basal salt lacking boron, the core is a low-boron or boron-free formula that retains the necessary macro and micro elements plant growth. It is in the form of dry powder, which is convenient for storage and transportation.
