Nutrient agar slant is a basic universal culture medium, which is mainly used for the passage of pure culture, short-term preservation and providing biochemical test bacteria solution. It is composed of basic nutrients such as peptone, beef extract powder and sodium chloride, which provides nitrogen source, carbon source, vitamins and minerals needed for microbial growth. The inclined surface can increase the surface area, which is convenient for line inoculation and observation of colony morphology. The fungus moss growing on the inclined plane after culture can be stored in the refrigerator at 4℃ for a short period of time. Because of its rich nutrition and non-selectivity, it is suitable for the cultivation of all kinds of non-fastidious bacteria, and it is one of the necessary media for strain management, teaching demonstration and preparation before detection in microbiology laboratory.
