M9 His-dropout medium is a specific medium for screening or culturing E. coli strains that lack the ability to synthesize histid. It mainly consists of two parts: M9 basal medium and His-dropout supplement. M9 basal medium is a synthetic medium with defined components, which is commonly for culturing E. coli. His-dropout refers to DO Supplement -His, which is a pre-mixed powder containing all essential amino acids except histidine () and nucleotides (e.g., adenine, uracil).
