Gram negative enrichment broth
GN enrichment solution is a liquid culture medium for selectively enriching intestinal pathogenic bacteria, especially suitable for enriching Shigella and Salmonella before detection. Its selectivity principle is based on the components such as sodium deoxycholate and sodium citrate contained in the culture medium, which can effectively inhibit the overgrowth of non-pathogenic intestinal bacteria such as Gram-positive bacteria and coliforms, and provide a relatively advantageous growth environment for pathogenic bacteria. The components such as tryptone and glucose in the culture medium provide necessary nutrition for the reproduction of the target bacteria. By controlling the lower initial pH value (about 6.9), the selective inhibition effect was further strengthened. The culture of samples in this medium at 35-37℃ for 6-8 hours can promote the rapid proliferation of a small number of pathogenic bacteria, thus greatly improving the positive detection rate of subsequent selective plate separation, which is a key step in the pathogen detection of feces and other samples.
