Plant Luciferase Complementation Imaging (LCI) Detection Kit
Plant Luciferase Complementation Imaging (LCI) Detection Kit
The luciferase complementation imaging (LCI) assay can be used to study protein-protein interactions. Firefly luciferase (LUC) can be divided into N-terminal and C-terminal fragments, and the two fragments alone cannot spontaneously recombine or function. Only when two proteins fused with the N-terminal and C-terminal parts interact, the two parts of LUC come into close proximity in space, generating a functional reconstituted LUC that catalyzes the luminescence of the luciferase substrate. In plants, through Agrobacterium-mediated transient transformation, protein interactions can be quickly detected in the leaves of dicotyledons such as tobacco and Arabidopsis. This method is simple, high-throughput, and highly sensitive.
