MB192Yeast strain

MB192 is a Saccharomyces cerevisiae strain used in the study of phosphate transport. This strain is engineered by geneout to delete the high-affinity phosphate transporter gene PHO84, while retaining four low-affinity phosphate transporter genes, including pho87 pho89, pho90, and pho91. MB192 is widely used in the functional study of plant phosphate transporters based on the principle when the transport function is restored, extracellular phosphate uptake increases, and this starvation response is inhibited, with a corresponding decrease in enzyme activity.
