Firefly Luciferase Reporter Gene Assay Kit
Firefly Luciferase Reporter Gene Assay Kit
This product is a flash-type Firefly Luciferase Reporter Gene Assay Kit, capable of highly sensitive detection of Firefly luciferase expression in animal cells, tobacco leaves, or plant protoplasts. The Firefly Luciferase Reporter Gene Assay system is a reporter system that uses luciferin as a substrate to detect firefly luciferase activity. Firefly luciferase is a 61 kDa monomeric protein that does not require post-translational modifications, functioning as a reporter protein immediately after translation. Firefly luciferase can catalyze the oxidation of luciferin to oxyluciferin only in the presence of luciferin, oxygen, ATP, and Mg2⁺. During luciferin oxidation, bioluminescence with a wavelength of around 560 nm is emitted. Firefly luciferase reporter gene detection is extremely sensitive, with luminescence efficiency being the highest among all chemiluminescent reactions, and no background luminescence has been observed in host cells or analytical chemistry. The reaction is rapid, with each sample completed in just a few seconds.
