NAD(H)Content Assay Kit
NAD(H)Content Assay Kit
Coenzyme I NAD(H) is widely present in animals, plants, microorganisms, and cultured cells. NAD+ serves as the primary hydrogen acceptor in glycolysis (EMP) and the tricarboxylic acid cycle (TCA). The generated NADH transfers electrons to oxygen via the respiratory electron transport chain (ETC); while ATP is synthesized, a large amount of reactive oxygen species (ROS) is produced, and NADH is simultaneously regenerated into NAD+. The levels of NAD(H) and the NADH/NAD+ ratio can be used to evaluate the intensity of glycolysis and the TCA cycle. In addition, an increase in the NADH/NAD+ ratio can also inhibit glycolysis and the TCA cycle.
