Citrate Synthase (CS) Detection Kit

CS(EC2.3.3.3.1)is widely present in the mitochondrial matrix of animals, microorganisms, and cultured cells. It is the first rate-limiting enzyme in the tricarboxylic acid cycle and one of the main regulatory sites of the tricarboxylic acid cycle. CS catalyzes acetyl-CoA and oxaloacetate to produce citryl-CoA, which is further hydrolyzed to generate citric acid. This reaction promotes the conversion of colorless DTNB into yellow TNB, which has a characteristic absorbance at 412 nm.
