SBG enrichment solution, namely selenite-cystine-brilliant green enrichment solution, is a liquid culture medium for selective enrichment of Salmonella, especially suitable for the detection of food samples. Its selectivity is based on the synergistic bacteriostatic effect of sodium selenite and brilliant green, which can effectively inhibit non-target bacteria such as coliform bacteria and gram-positive bacteria. Peptone in the culture medium provides basic nutrition, while cystine can significantly promote the growth and recovery of Salmonella, especially Salmonella typhi. After inoculation, the samples are usually cultured at 35-37℃ for 18-24 hours. In this process, sodium selenite can be metabolized and reduced to produce red selenium, so the culture time should be strictly controlled. The enrichment liquid can effectively improve the recovery rate of damaged Salmonella, thus significantly improving the positive detection rate of subsequent selective plate separation.
