MI medium
MI medium is a selective liquid medium for detecting Pseudomonas aeruginosa in drinking water, which is often used in combination with membrane filtration. Its ingredients include amino acids, magnesium salts, potassium salts and other nutrients, and Cetrimide is added as a selective inhibitor, which can effectively inhibit the growth of most non-Pseudomonas bacteria. Acetylamine in the culture medium, as the only carbon source, can promote Pseudomonas aeruginosa to produce characteristic fluorescent pigments (Pseudomonas aeruginosa) and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. After culture, the yellow-green fluorescence of the culture medium was observed under ultraviolet lamp, which was the positive result. The culture medium has high specificity and is an important tool for environmental water quality monitoring
