Bile salt lactose enrichment solution
Bile salt lactose enrichment solution is a liquid selective enrichment medium for coliform bacteria and Escherichia coli detection, which is widely used in microbial detection of drugs and food. Its selectivity depends on bile salts, which can effectively inhibit the growth of gram-positive bacteria. Peptone in the culture medium provides nitrogen source and growth factor, and lactose is the only fermentable carbon source. If the sample contains target bacteria, it can ferment lactose to produce acid and gas within 18-24 hours at 35-37℃. The enrichment solution is the key step of MPN method (maximum likelihood method), and the gas production result is positive. After enrichment, it is usually necessary to transfer the seeds to the identification medium (such as EMB agar) for separation and confirmation, so as to improve the detection accuracy, which is an important basis for judging whether the samples are contaminated by feces.
