pet21a vector
pET-21a is a commonly used Escherichia coli expression vector developed by Novagen, widely used for the efficient expression of recombinant proteins. Its design features make it particularly suitable for inducible high-level expression of target genes in E. coli, requiring the use of E. coli strains containing the T7 RNA polymerase gene (such as BL21 (DE3), Rosetta (DE3), etc.). In these strains, the T7 RNA polymerase gene is controlled by the lacUV5 promoter and can be induced by IPTG, thereby initiating transcription of the target gene.
