pET-22b is an important member of the pET series of E. coli expression vectors from Novagen, designed for high-efficiency expression of recombinant proteins. It belongs to the same vector family as pET-21a but differs in the position of the tag and some elements. The pET-22b vector contains a PelB signal peptide sequence, which can direct the expressed target protein to the periplasmic space.
