pET-SUMO is a type of high-efficiency prokaryotic expression vector developed based on the pET system, designed by Novagen. Its core feature is the significant enhancement of recombinant protein solubility and expression efficiency in E. coli through the fusion of a SUMO tag, making it widely used for the production of difficult-to-express proteins. The core design involves introducing the SUMO tag coding sequence downstream of the T7 promoter, allowing the target gene and SUMO tag to form a fusion protein for expression. It is suitable for prokaryotic expression experiments that require improved protein solubility or the acquisition of a native N-terminal sequence.
