pET-42a is an important member of the pET series of prokaryotic expression vectors, which is widely used for the efficient expression recombinant proteins in E. coli. Its design takes into account both the efficiency of expression and the convenience of protein purification. It encodes the GST fusion tag with an additional His tag. If the GST tag needs to be removed, the target gene can be inserted into the PshAI restriction enzyme site of the vector, so that GST tag expressed by fusion can be completely removed by the Factor Xa protease.
