Soluble Starch Synthase (SSS) Detection Kit
Soluble Starch Synthase (SSS) Detection Kit
SSS (EC 2.4.1.21) usually exists in a free state in the plastid stroma, catalyzing the elongation of starch chains and being mainly responsible for the synthesis of amylopectin. SSS catalyzes the reaction between ADPG and starch primers (glucans), transferring glucose molecules to the starch primers while generating ADP. The pyruvate kinase, hexokinase, and 6-phosphoglucose dehydrogenase added to the reaction system sequentially catalyze the reduction of NADP+ to NADPH. The amount of NADPH generated is proportional to the amount of ADP generated in the previous reaction, and the SSS activity can be calculated by measuring the increase in NADPH at 340 nm.
