ADPG Pyrophosphorylase (AGP) Detection Kit
ADPG Pyrophosphorylase (AGP) Detection Kit
AGP (EC 2.7.7.21) mainly exists in plants. It catalyzes the reaction between glucose-1-phosphate and ATP to generate ADPG, the direct precursor for starch synthesis, and is the main rate-limiting step in plant starch biosynthesis. The reverse reaction catalyzed by AGP generates GIP. The phosphohexose isomerase and 6-phosphogluconate dehydrogenase added to the reaction system sequentially catalyze the generation of 6-phosphogluconic acid and NADPH. By measuring the rate of increase in NADPH at 340nm, the AGP activity can be calculated.
