PNCC enrichment solution

PNCC enrichment solution is a liquid medium for selective enrichment of Campylobacter jejuni and Campylobacter coli. Its name "PNCC" is derived from its main antibacterial components: polymyxin B, neomycin, trimethoprim and cefotaxime. The combination of these four antibiotics can effectively inhibit the growth of Gram-positive bacteria, Gram-negative miscellaneous bacteria and fungi, and provide a relatively pure proliferation environment for Campylobacter jejuni and Campylobacter coli. The culture medium also contains basic nutrients, blood or serum, and reducing agents required by micro-aerobic environment to meet the harsh growth requirements of Campylobacter. The enrichment solution is widely used in the detection of Campylobacter in food (especially poultry meat) and clinical specimens. The positive rate of subsequent plate separation can be significantly improved through the pre-enrichment step, which is a key link in the standard flow of Campylobacter inspection.
