Listeria enrichment broth LB1
Listeria enrichment broth LB1 (Listeria enrichment broth base) is a basic medium for selective enrichment of Listeria, which is suitable for the first stage enrichment of food and environmental samples. Its basic ingredients provide nutrition, and its selectivity comes from the addition of nalidixic acid and acridine yellow, which effectively inhibits some gram-negative and positive mixed bacteria. LB1 is characterized by its relatively mild selectivity, which aims to protect the recovery and initial proliferation of Listeria cells that may be damaged, and avoid the missed detection due to excessive selection pressure in the initial enrichment stage. After the sample homogenate was cultured in LB1 at 30℃ for 24 hours, it was transferred to LB2 broth with more selectivity for secondary enrichment. The detection rate of Listeria monocytogenes, especially Listeria monocytogenes, was significantly improved by two-step method.
