Listeria enrichment broth LB2
Listeria enrichment broth LB2 is the second medium of the two-step enrichment method for Listeria detection, which is used for selective enrichment after the initial enrichment of LB1. Compared with LB1, the selectivity of LB2 is significantly enhanced, mainly by adding higher concentration of nalidixic acid, lithium chloride and other inhibitors (such as polymyxin, etc.), which can effectively inhibit the background of miscellaneous bacteria and promote the dominant growth of Listeria monocytogenes. After LB1 culture for 4 hours, a small amount of bacterial liquid was transferred to LB2, and the culture was continued at 30℃ for 24-48 hours. This step-by-step enrichment strategy not only protects the recovery of damaged bacteria, but also purifies the culture through strong selective pressure, which greatly improves the sensitivity and reliability of detecting Listeria from complex food samples.
