Fraser medium
Fraser medium, Fraser medium, is the second selective enrichment solution in the two-step enrichment method for Listeria detection. Compared with the Half-Fraser culture medium, the concentrations of nutrients and inhibitors (such as nalidixic acid, lithium chloride, acridine yellow, etc.) are all full, and the selectivity is significantly enhanced, which can effectively inhibit the background of miscellaneous bacteria and promote the dominant growth of Listeria. The culture medium also contains aescin and ammonium ferric citrate as indicator system. The fermentation of aescin by Listeria will produce black substances, which will make the broth black, which can provide a preliminary positive indication in the enrichment stage. Transfer the bacteria liquid after the initial enrichment by Half-Fraser to Fraser culture medium, and continue to culture at 30-35℃ for 24-48 hours, finally improving the sensitivity and purity of Listeria isolated from complex food samples
