pVAX1 Vector

The feature of this vector is that it allows high-copy replication in Escherichia coli and high-level transient protein expression in mammalian cells. The vector contains the following elements: the human cytomegalovirus immediate-early promoter, which enables high-level gene expression in most mammalian cells; the bovine growth hormone polyadenylation signal, which ensures efficient transcription termination and the polyA structure of mRNA. In Escherichia coli, kanamycin resistance is used for modified vector selection. The plasmid pVAX1/lacZ is used as a positive control for gene transfection and expression in cell lines.
