pPC86 Vector

pPC86 is a classic prey vector designed based on the yeast two-hybrid system. It was developed by the Chevray and Nathans laboratories. Its core function is to express an 'activation domain - prey protein' fusion in yeast cells, which, in conjunction with bait vectors containing the LexA DNA-binding domain (such as pPC97 and pEG202), allows protein-protein interactions to be detected through a reporter gene. It is widely used for screening unknown interacting proteins, validating known protein interactions, and studying the localization of protein functional domains.
