Basics of Listeria Enrichment Broth (LEB)
Basics of Listeria Enrichment Broth (LEB)
Listeria enrichment broth base (LEB) is a liquid medium for selective enrichment of Listeria. Its basic components (such as tryptone and yeast extract) provide rich nitrogen sources and vitamins to promote the growth of bacteria; Key selective additives (such as nalidixic acid and acriflavin) can effectively inhibit gram-negative bacteria and most gram-positive bacteria, thus creating a favorable growth environment for Listeria. This culture medium usually needs to cooperate with the subsequent separation steps, and it is the first choice for the detection of Listeria in food or environmental samples (such as GB 4789.30). It has the characteristics of strong selectivity and reliable enrichment effect.
